Docs In Progress screens documentary film works in progress by local and visiting documentary filmmakers. These screening/workshops are open to the public and give documentary filmmakers and afficionados the chance to connect and both be a part of the creative process in a moderated critique session following the film screening. This month, we spotlight two short films on the contemporary dating scene and a feature-length film on end-of-life decisions for the terminally ill. The films are:
MATCH ME IF YOU CAN by Dave Nuttycombe (14 minutes)
Tommy "The Matchmaker" reflects on his life's dedication to bringing together the DC-area's 30+ singles.
FOUR MINUTES by Jes Therkelsen and Phoebe Gilpin (4 minutes)
When looking for love in the world of speed dating, a lot can happen in four minutes.
MERIAN'S WAY by Karen Cantor and Chris Gavin (1 hour)
The debate about euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide is seen from the perspective of family members of terminally-ill patients and the complicated choices they must face.
